Lifebuilder Edition 20 - 09/06/2004

                                                 QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"Careful not to get ‘me deep’ in conversation."

  - Justin Cohen

 Welcome to Lifebuilder!

    BUILD YOUR LIFE

       LISTEN WELL

  • Ask opened-ended questions like: ”What do you think?”’ or “What is your opinion?”
  • Listen with your eyes. Looking into their eyes helps you to focus and tells them you’re listening.
  • Clarify your understanding by paraphrasing what they’ve said.

Let’s face it, there is only one thing people like to talk about more than s*e*x - themselves. If most people were honest, once they were finished talking about themselves, they’d say: ”I’ve spoken enough about me, now you talk about me.”

If you’re having a conversation with someone like this, let them talk. Not only do you satisfy your curiosity and very often learn something new, you deeply satisfy your conversational partner. But what do you do if they don’t let you get a word in edgeways? Send them this week’s
Lifebuilder!

Until next week - Create Your
  Self!
