Hi, welcome to Lifebuilder!

Welcome back! I spent the last day of 2005 camped alone out on a friend’s farm in the middle of the Free State (OK, I didn’t sleep alone - I had my laptop with me). For 24 hours, I fasted, meditated and reflected. This is becoming an annual ritual for me. I find it a great way to review the past year and plan for the year ahead. If you haven’t yet planned your year, it’s never too late (well, perhaps July is pushing it). 

In the middle of the night, I was woken by one of the most violent thunder storms I have ever encountered. The lightning flickered like a strobe light. The thunder sounded like a rottweiler that had ripped into my tent. Perhaps a little over-dramatically, I started thinking that I might not live to see 2006. Suddenly, 2005 seemed a whole lot more significant. If 2005 were my last year on earth, would I be satisfied with how I lived it? Hmm ... fortunately, I made it to 2006, and so did you. Congratulations, now live this year as if it’s your last.
