Hi, welcome to Lifebuilder!

In my role as conference speaker, I often talk about the importance of passion. Passion is the key to performance. More than one business leader has said love what you do and the money will follow. When you love what you do, you tend to be good at it or enjoy getting good at it. People also like to deal with people who are having fun. 

I have to confess, I had one niggling concern. What if you had a really monotonous job? How could you find joy in that? That’s when one of my mentors, John Kehoe, told me about a worker on an automobile assembly line. His job was screwing doors onto cars. Despite this seemingly dull job, he was always smiling and upbeat. John asked him how he stayed so positive. He explained that whenever he put a door on a car, he reflected on the person or family that would soon be riding in that car. He would think about how he was contributing to their safety and well- being, and offer up a prayer for their safe journey. Passion isn’t in the job; it’s what we put into the job.
