As the college year of 1953 drew to a close, researchers questioned Yale Graduates about their career goals. About 70% had goals, but less than 3% of the graduates had specific goals that they had written down, setting a time frame to achieve them. Twenty years later, researchers found that the 3% with clear, written goals were significantly happier and more satisfied than those without. 

Amazingly, they had also accumulated more wealth than the rest of the graduates combined! If there were a genie that could grant you any three wishes, it wouldn’t just grant you the three wishes, it would grant you as many as you wanted, but it would give you a goal-setting programme as well!
