Lifebuilder Edition 30 - 18/08/2004

                     QUOTE OF THE WEEK

    "Moreku ga a ithekole."
("A doctor is usually unable to cure himself.") - Northern Sotho proverb

 Welcome to Lifebuilder!

    BUILD YOUR LIFE

     GET HONEST      FEEDBACK

  • Tell somebody you trust that you are looking for honest feedback, especially if it’s not positive.
  • Assess what they have said and ask others to add to or verify it.
  • Ask for suggestions as to how you can improve.
  • Decide on a plan of action and act!

The most valuable function a doctor provides is a diagnosis. Once you know the ailment, the chance of finding a cure is far better.

When our lives are going wrong, it is not always possible to diagnose ourselves. When we are directly involved, it is hard to be objective. So get used to asking people for feedback. You can’t change what you don’t know. Everybody is flawed; the difference between great people and others is they know they are. But they don’t leave it at that: they get a diagnosis and do something about it.

Until next week - Create Your Self!
