Welcome to Lifebuilder!

I had a few setbacks this week. Solution-oriented optimism is what I teach, but of course it is natural to feel down in the face of an obstacle. It’s how you manage those emotions that determines how quickly you rebound. 

Well, as I was picking myself up, something occurred to me. The words ‘horrible’ or ‘terrible’ do not really apply to anything that has ever happened to me. ‘Horrible’ is becoming a paraplegic in a car accident, ‘terrible’ is being raped or molested. I know there are people reading this who have had terrible things happen to them. If you are one of them, I know that you have it in your power to overcome. 

But if you’re like me, let’s stop exaggerating and remember that compared to billions of the world’s people who go to bed hungry every night, the ‘adversity’ that we have to face does not warrant the word 'adversity'.
