Whenever I feel annoyed about having to floss my teeth, run a minor errand or take out the garbage, I think about how much a quadriplegic would love to do these things - to feel the stretch of his legs, the movement of his fingers or the sensation on his skin. Suddenly, these apparently mundane tasks become a profound meditation that can produce a feeling of bliss. The best things in life aren’t things; they are the simple sensory pleasures of being alive.
